Philly Peace in Progress is a non-profit organization located in West Philadelphia that addresses violence before, during and after it occurs. Philly Peace in Progress tackles this epidemic through a holist approach. Our mission is to rebuild troubled youth by helping them become more positive and healthy problem solvers. Our organization will be offering an after- school program and summer programs for youth ages 10 to 16 and life social skills to adults from ages 17 to 25 in West Philadelphia. Our Curriculum focuses on the interests and challenges the kids face, such as anger management, legal issues, grades etc. We aim to develop critical thinking skills through fun, yet educational field trips, group talks with experts, life transformational skill activities, cultural enrichment programs, and tutoring. Likewise, as many are not food secure, Philly Peace in Progress also provides food programs to are participants.
