School-to-Work Transition Program for young adults with autism.
What is Project SEARCH:
Project SEARCH at Drexel University offers vocational training and internships to young adults diagnosed with autism and an intellectual disability with the goal of competitive integrated employment. As part of the program, peer mentors support students in working towards their goals and help develop skills needed for a job setting.
Mentor Will:
- Participate from October 2023 - May 2024
- Support young adults with autism for a minimum of 2 hours a month
- Thursdays (biweekly) 2:00 – 2:45pm
- Participate in scheduled activities with Project SEARCH interns on Drexel campus
- Learn strategies to best support young adults on the autism spectrum
Project SEARCH at Drexel is an initiative of Transition Pathways of the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute.
