The West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC) helps to reopen public school libraries in Philadelphia. We provide students in kindergarten through 4th grade with access to high quality diverse books and create opportunities that foster curiosity and encourage a lifelong love of reading. Specific volunteer duties include:
- Maintaining the library space
- Helping kids select high interest books
- Conducting read alouds
- Using the online library management system
The qualifications:
- Ability to commit to at least one shift per week of at least 3 hours
- Interest in working with a diverse group of students
- Commitment to children’s literacy and equity
- Comfort with working as part of a team
- Willingness to learn online library management system
