Hospice care is for people who have a life expectancy of six months or less and have chosen to focus on palliative care and comfort. Hospice care affirms the belief that it is important to make every moment of life as meaningful as possible services to manage pain, relieve symptoms, give emotional, and spiritual support. Visits are made to patient reside location; long team care, facility, assisted living, or the patient home.
Eligible patients are provided services according to the State of PA for Hospice Services regardless of income, race, ethnic background, gender, or sexual or orientation.
Administration Intern Learning Objectives:
- Develop an understanding of hospice philosophy, goals, ethics, services, and concept of palliative care.
- Understand HCHB-Medical electronic charting system.
- Learn and understand the HIPPA regulations, the role of confidentiality, Patient Bill of Right, Ethical Standards, and Practices.
