Barnes on the Block is a block-party activating the Parkway in front of the Barnes Foundation with art activities and performances. Volunteers will support the following stations:
Tiny Farm Wagon, 1 volunteer from 4-8pm, 30 minute break at 5:30pm
This volunteer will be assisting writer, performer, and visual artist Misty Sol. She will be parking the Tiny Farm Wagon, a mobile art classroom and greenhouse, on the Barnes campus and leading seed planting and collage creating activities influenced by the Harlem Renaissance.
Jahwula Seapoe, 1 volunteer from 4-8pm, 30 minute break at 6pm
This volunteer will be assisting musician and movement/yoga practitioner Jahwula Seapoe. She will be offering journaling prompts and self-care jars for visitors to take home, along with providing 20-minute yoga sessions in the grass at the top of every hour. This volunteer will help run the table especially while Jahwula leads these yoga sessions.
Keyonna Butler, 1 volunteer from 4-8pm, 30 minute break at 6:30pm
This volunteer will be assisting costume designer and visual artist Keyonna Butler. She will be leading a hands-on artmaking activity using recycled textiles and other fabrics.
Ken Johnston, 1 volunteer from 4-8pm, 30 minute break at 7:00pm
This volunteer will be assisting walking and visual artist Ken Johnston. He will be leading a lantern making and decorating station for visitors to carry as they walk around the Barnes campus.
