Did you know the Red Cross is responsible for about half the country’s blood supply? What’s more, nearly 90% of everything we do is done and led by volunteers. We need BLOOD TRANSPORT VOLUNTEERS to get the blood where and when it is needed. Join us to help assure more birthdays, graduations, weddings, and all those happy times in peoples’ lives.
BLOOD TRANSPORT VOLUNTEERS - ALL ROUTES GO THROUGH PHILADELPHIA!
- Deliver blood and related products from our Philadelphia distribution lab (7th & Spring Garden Streets) to community hospitals and/or from neighborhood blood drives to the distribution lab.
- Always on your schedule, using your own vehicle (reimbursement available) or a Red Cross vehicle. Only sign up for routes convenient to you. Most volunteers work 1-2 shifts/month; each about 4-5 hours.
- Work independently or with preferred Navigator.
- Requires valid driver’s license, 3+ years clean driving record, and ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
