Be a part of the mission of the Penn Vet Working Dog Center! We're looking for volunteers to help maintain the well-being of our dogs and their training environment. This is an amazing opportunity to experience hands-on interaction with working dogs in training and to learn about dog training and scientific research. Our volunteers perform essential entry level skills - from setting up and videotaping training to labeling and organizing videos to light maintenance of the facility (laundry, preparing treat bags, washing bowls/toys, etc). This opportunity is meant to be ongoing, and it is our hope that you can commit to at least a few hours one day each week for at least 8 weeks. Direct interaction with dogs is under the supervision of the trainers and may be earned through a supported clearance process. The more you are here, the sooner you will acquire the skills to interact with the dogs. We are open Mon-Fri from 7am to 6:30 pm. You determine the days and hours that suit your schedule. We especially need volunteers to help with closing protocols from 4-6:30! Come join us!
