Vaccinated Male students needed to mentor young people touched by addiction.
JFCS is running a camp for children ages 9-12 who have been affected by the substance abuse of a loved one. The camp will take place on six different weekends (one every other month) over the course of a year. There will be professional social workers on staff to provide counseling, but much of the schedule over the weekends will be filled with traditional camp activities like hiking and arts & crafts.
We’re looking for college students to join us for a minimum of four of the weekends, mentoring and connecting with the campers. Mentors will be staying overnight in the cabins with the kids (as a camp counselor would), and must pass child abuse clearances and a criminal background check, and will be paid $500 for each weekend. This is a great opportunity for someone who cares about kids and wants to make a difference in their lives while making some extra money and having a great time doing fun camp activities. I’ve attached a flyer with details.
