Who We Are

Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia has a unique and vital mission: to strengthen families and individuals across generations and cultures to achieve stability, independence, and community.

We work to fulfill that mission by adhering to the key principles of:

  • Living our Jewish values and ethics
  • Serving all people, especially those most in need in our community
  • Acting with respect and compassion
  • Embracing diversity and inclusion
  • Being transparent and accountable
  • Using a person-centered and trauma-informed approach in all that we do
  • Pursuing excellence as a leading provider of individual and family services

What We Do

We distribute clothing free of charge by operating “pop-up shops”* as well as providing emergency response packages to community members in crisis. There are no eligibility requirements to receive clothing. Our goal is to meet a basic need for community members so that they can better focus on handling other stressors in their lives, such as securing a steady source of income or finding permanent housing solutions, with confidence.

*Since March, we have shifted from a pop-up model to an emergency clothing delivery model.  We pack clothes for individuals based on their specific requests, and deliver directly to their home, shelter, or designated meeting place.
