Who We Are

Episcopal Community Services (ECS) is dedicated to challenging and reducing intergenerational poverty by providing a range of programs and supports at no charge to community members. Our services are designed to help individuals and families achieve economic independence and improve their overall well-being. ECS offers a variety of programs including food security initiatives like the Open-Choice Food Pantry and Community Cook-Off, which provide nutritious meals to those in need. Our housing programs, such as Rapid Rehousing, assist families experiencing homelessness in transitioning to stable housing. Additionally, ECS provides health and wellness services, youth development programs, and economic mobility coaching through our MindSet program. These comprehensive services are aimed at addressing the root causes of poverty and empowering individuals to create a better future for themselves and their families. Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of ECS programs, and there are numerous opportunities for individuals to get involved.

What We Do

In the pantry, volunteers assist with stocking shelves, organizing food items, and guiding participants through their visit, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment. For senior meals, volunteers participate in the Community Cook-Off, where they help portion pre-cooked food into containers, label, and freeze them for distribution to senior homes. Those interested in digital literacy support can assist community members in developing essential computer skills, enhancing their ability to navigate the digital world. Special event volunteer support is also needed for various community events, where volunteers can help with setup, coordination, and engagement activities. By volunteering with ECS, individuals from all walks of life can make a meaningful impact, gain valuable experience, and contribute to building a stronger, more resilient community. Volunteering with ECS not only provides the satisfaction of helping others but also offers personal growth, networking opportunities, and the chance to develop new skills.
