Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is dedicated to transforming lives and our city by building and repairing homes in partnership with families in need and uniting all Philadelphians around the cause of affordable housing. Our ReStores are discount home improvement stores, in which all profit goes toward building and repairing homes at an affordable rate throughout the city.

No matter who you are or where you come from, everyone deserves a decent place to live.

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia provides a hand-up, not a handout, to families in need. People in Habitat’s Homeownership Program partner to build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Applicants must: demonstrate a need for housing services, be willing to partner with Habitat through “sweat equity” volunteer hours, and who earn between 30 and 60 percent of the Area Mean Income.

That's not the only way Habitat Philadelphia looks to help homeowners. Our Home Repair program builds on Habitat’s traditional partnership model using affordable payment options, sweat equity, and volunteer labor to work alongside homeowners to maintain safety and security in their homes, make necessary critical repairs, or pay utility bills.

One of the broader programs we support is our Neighborhood Revitalization program. This initiative sees our organization partner with existing coalitions in a community: we listen to neighborhood needs and work to connect, organize, and empower residents to be leaders in their community. We work collaboratively with residents and key cross-sector stakeholders to develop solutions that align with neighborhood aspirations.

Finally, we have our ReStores: Habitat Philadelphia's discount home improvement store and donation center We take donated items and mark them down, sometimes for up to half market rate, reselling them back into the community. Whether you’re searching for unique, vintage pieces or brand-new home essentials, there really is something for everyone. Every dollar spent, item donated and hour volunteered at the ReStores helps Habitat Philadelphia build more community, homes and hope across our city. All profits from our ReStores go directly towards supporting our other programs.
