Who We Are

Dreamline’s goal is to move students around the world in the direction of their dreams together. Our programs cultivate imagination, awareness, community, and change by engaging young people to listen, reflect, create, and share their dreams through art and text. Teaching students to pay attention to and act on what really matters to them in collaboration with others is our hope for the future.

What We Do

Dreamline is an educational program that engages young people around the world to discover, believe in, and act on their dreams, authentically integrating social-emotional learning (SEL) competencies to cultivate a vision for the future and the skills to get there. Dreamline originated as a class project in the classroom of its founder and has since grown organically to reach students around the world. Since we started sharing our program through a nonprofit created in 2016, it has been adapted for every grade, K-12; in some cases, teachers carry it out as a standalone classroom activity, and in others, schools adapt our fully supported and licensed SEL-focused curriculum into longer learning units. After a process of reflection, students create individual Dream Banners, expressing their dreams and personal values on 9×12 in (23×30 cm) cloth rectangles. Students attach their Banners to a line called a Dreamline – a metaphor to show how we have to be connected to each other to move in the direction of our dreams. The Dreamline’s purpose is to go out into the community as a public declaration of our collective values and dreams, building belonging, empathy, and agency in each student. Teachers and students become part of the global Dreamline community with teacher-to-teacher collaboration opportunities, ongoing support for program leaders, a monthly participant newsletter, and inclusion in a year-end live event in Philadelphia and inclusive of remoter participants and viewers through Zoom and live streaming.
