Who We Are

The Hub of Hope offers a safe place where people can enjoy a warm cup of coffee, take a shower and wash laundry, and speak to peers or case managers to begin the process of finding a permanent home. It creates even greater opportunities to connect individuals experiencing homelessness to recovery, medical care and ultimately stable, supportive housing.

What We Do

Volunteer Roles include:

Coffee Station

Coffee is the primary volunteer need at the Hub, especially in the morning (7:30-10:00). The coffee station can comfortably accommodate a max of 2 volunteers at a time – 1 person serving coffee and 1 person running coffee to the kitchen. Coffee is one of the most popular and sometimes more difficult volunteer rolesIt is a great way to build relationships with participants.

Donations

Donation Volunteer assist with sorting donations, building hygiene kits and stocking the closet. Volunteers should be given direct instructions on these tasks and ideally work with an experienced volunteer or staff member to ensure organizational standards are maintained.

Data Entry

Volunteers who have expressed interest in data entry can come in specifically for this purpose. Occasionally if there are too many volunteers at the coffee station and no donations to sort we will ask if anyone is interested in doing data entry.

Hospitality

Hospitality Volunteers help manage the flow of Hospitality services by assisting staff in setting up showers, calling names, getting clothing, etc. Hospitality Volunteers should be paired with the staff member managing Hospitality services for the day and shouldn’t be running services alone unless they are experienced and confident in their ability to do so.
