Urban Tree Connection

Urban Tree Connection is an organization dedicated to creating communal garden spaces that help to foster community and education on creating a healthy sustainable community that can provide it's own food.

Urban Tree Connection has many programs. It's Neighborhood Foods Farm program is a 3/4 acre urban farm helping urban populations with food insecurity. They have also turned vacant lots into community gardens, educational spaces and mini parks. They have also partnered with  Community-Led Farmers Markets and a Community Supported Agriculture to distribute their produce to areas in West Philly that need healthy food options. Urban Tree Connections also has educational programs that help to teach children and adults about health and wellness and encourage environmental justice through workshops and hands-on gardening sites.
