Volunteer: Gardening Enthusiasts wanted at The Barn at Spring Brook Farm!

The Barn at Spring Brook Farm is looking for gardening enthusiasts to volunteer their time to help maintain gardens around the property. In addition to our beautiful butterfly and bird gardens, The Barn grows produce for the West Chester Food Cupboard as part of a partnership with the Chester County Food Bank. We are looking for assistance in maintaining the raised garden beds and gardens in the Outdoor Learning Center as necessary. Gardening experience preferred but not required and perfect for all ages!

Volunteer: After School Volunteer for an Hour Weekdays with Special Needs Child!

Volunteers are needed to take part in an opportunity to assist one-on-one with a child for their weekly individual program. With miniature farm animals, the children explore their potential, gain skills and have fun. Sessions are one hour per week. Volunteers can sign up for one or more hours with one or more child. Make a connection and help build confidence while having a great time! Training included. Sessions start end of February and August but we're always looking for volunteers!

Volunteer: Volunteer Coordinator Wanted at The Barn at Spring Brook Farm

The Barn at Spring Brook Farm is looking for a volunteer to dedicate their time as a Volunteer Coordinator! This volunteer role would require a commitment of a minimum six hours per week, preferably spread throughout Monday and Friday. This is a 50/50 remote and in-person volunteer position, with in-person volunteer hours required at different times throughout the year. As the Volunteer Coordinator, you would help recruit, onboard and place volunteers into appropriate positions at The Barn during specific recruitment and onboarding periods (January/February, May/June and August/September). You would also be responsible for ensuring required background checks are completed, filed and tracked, as well as assist in scheduling Barn Tours and necessary trainings. An in-person four hour training and orientation at The Barn would be required before your start date.

Other responsibilities include:

Communicates volunteer needs to pool of volunteers Works with Barn staff to fill volunteer needs for programs and special events Recruits and coordinates work of corporate/group volunteers with appropriate staff at The Barn Thank individual volunteers and volunteer service groups for their work at the barn

Be a counselor (age 18 and up) or assistant counselor (ages 13 to 17) for one to six weeks (one week minimum) at The Barn at Spring Brook Farm's Camp Geronimo! Work one-to-one with a camper/child with disabilities (ages 6 to 12), have fun working with mini farm animals, and make a difference while earning volunteer hours! Camp Geronimo runs Monday through Friday 8am to 2pm. Counselor training will be provided.
