Volunteer: Guest Resource Liason DCC

As a food pantry one of our goals is connecting our guests with additional resources beyond just food. We have a need for volunteers who can work to connect guests with external food resources as well as other organizations that can best support their goals. We also would strive to educate on how to access these services. 

Guest resource assistance Medicaid Renewal SNAP and LIHEAP applications Brainstorm an education plan that could be implemented for Feast of Justice guests about Medicaid Renewal, SNAP/LIHEAP applications (other programs as well).  Expand resource assistance program Create materials/orientation for future volunteers to provide these resource connections with little training Create videos explaining the process to educate guests and volunteers Create materials for guests to expand resource connections Develop processes for assistance in “more than food”

Our Choice Market is 100% staffed by volunteers, with 100-150 individuals volunteering on a weekly basis. We require 400 hours donated by volunteers in order to operate, so a robust volunteer program is absolutely essential to the success of Feast of Justice in feeding families in the Northeast. This volunteer will work directly with our Volunteer Engagement Manager.

Conduct follow-ups with volunteers post volunteering and survey volunteer pool of 1400+ active volunteers Follow up with group volunteers and organizations that participate in FOJ programs Manage group volunteering and improve practices to improve retention Event planning to boost retention, participation, and appreciation Communications via volunteer software, direct messaging, and social media Brainstorm volunteer communications advancements, as well as volunteer software efficacy  Recruitment for long-term volunteers Marketing of volunteer programs and Feast of Justice community
