Background: Since 2014, MVP360 has been running camps for military kids at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ. Fast forward to 2023, we are proud to announce that we are the first organization selected to run Flag Football Summer Camps for all Air Force installations across the United States and abroad! We will run 5 camps at 4 military installations in 2023 and will be expanding to 14-20 locations in 2024. Although our first assignment is to provide the USAF with Flag Football camps, our goal is to add other sports such as basketball, baseball, softball and more! We are looking forward to bringing this concept to USAF installations across the world!

Opportunity: We are looking for student-athletes with the ability to lead youth ages 8-17 in activities related to sports and recreation. While working with us, you will learn from experienced coaches, develop, and implement sports specific teaching guides, and coordinate administrative details related to the sports camps. Our Interns will work closely with the MVP360 Travel Team. The ideal candidate is motivated, high-energy, organized and operations minded. Possesses the ability to create a high-quality and unforgettable experiences for the participants.

Qualifications/Requirements: Enrolled in or recently finished a degree at 2- or 4- year accredited college or university (3rd and 4th year students preferred)

Adult Education Tutors Wanted!

Adult Education Tutors support adult learners with English for Speakers of Other Languages, Adult Basic Education, GED test prep, and/or basic digital skills. Before being matched with a learner, tutors complete an online 12-hour course and receive a digital credential through the City of Philadelphia’s Mayor’s Office of Education. Once matched, tutors will have the support of the education provider and will have access to ongoing professional development opportunities. 

The adult education tutor training course covers the foundational theories and practices of tutoring adult learners with achieving their goals. Adult learning goals include finding gainful employment, participating more fully in society, entering academic/vocational programs, supporting their children's education, among others. Volunteers may serve as personal tutors, classroom aides, or other support roles for adult learners working to achieve their goals.

As a food pantry one of our goals is connecting our guests with additional resources beyond just food. We have a need for volunteers who can work to connect guests with external food resources as well as other organizations that can best support their goals. We also would strive to educate on how to access these services. 

Our Choice Market is 100% staffed by volunteers, with 100-150 individuals volunteering on a weekly basis. We require 400 hours donated by volunteers in order to operate, so a robust volunteer program is absolutely essential to the success of Feast of Justice in feeding families in the Northeast. Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) Home Fire Campaign (HFC) Team Member

Regional position covering Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties

Each year, the Red Cross responds to an average of more than 60,000 disasters, the vast majority of which are home fires. This position supports the Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Regional Disaster Cycle Services department and our coalition partners helping to reduce deaths and injuries from home fires, including in high-risk traditionally underserved communities, by installing free smoke alarms, providing education to residents about home fire risks, offering home-safety checklists, and helping families prepare fire escape plans.

The Support Volunteer supports multiple functions within the Red Cross House located at 40th & Powelton, Philadelphia. This unique (only type of its kind in the nation!) is a short-term recovery center for families displaced by disaster in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Responsibilities include assisting with front desk, reception, and kitchen duties. Specific tasks may include:

Support volunteers are expected to commit to at least one shift per week. There are three shifts every day: 8AM – 12PM; 12PM – 4PM; and 4PM – 8PM. Volunteers with availability on weekdays are especially needed.

Become a Peer Mentor for Project Career Launch

Project Career Launch is a one-year transition program in partnership with the Philadelphia School District and Community Integrated Services. The program supports young adults on the autism spectrum in preparing for employment and independent living.

As a Peer Mentor, you will work one-on-one with a student, building an ongoing supportive relationship face-to-face for 1–2 hours per week.

The program assistant will support the workforce and adult education programming at the Beachell Family Learning Center. They may offer direct community support by assisting visitors in our computer lab and Creator's Lab during open lab hours and workshops. Warrior Canine Connection is a non-profit organization which breeds, raises and trains dogs with the assistance of Veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), or mobility issues. These dogs are eventually placed as service dogs for Wounded Warriors, military family support dogs, or facility dogs for Veteran Organizations. 

Transport volunteers assist in transporting Service Dogs in Training (SDIT) of all ages to and from vet appointments, local airports and other service dog organizations. Volunteers must be 21 years of age with 2 years driving experience and have the option of utilizing their own vehicle or requesting the use of one of WCC’s vehicles, if available.

Speak another language? Put those skills to use!

Volunteers will support HIAS PA legal and social services staff in translation and interpretation, which could be virtual or in person. Volunteers can choose whether they are comfortable translating, interpreting, or both. Needs are communicated via email as they arise, and volunteers respond to needs that fit their schedule. There is no minimum commitment. Each assignment typically takes 1-5 hours.

Highly needed languages include Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Haitian Creole, Spanish (in-person, business hours only), French (in-person, business hours only), Urdu, Ukrainian, Russian, Swahili, Tigrinya, Rohingya and Burmese, but all languages are welcome.

This volunteer position works with 1st-4th graders at Ryan Hall/Dornsife Center 3509 Spring Garden St. These classes provide local youth with the benefits of youth martial arts via volunteer instruction & mentorship. Self confidence, exercise, goal setting, mutual respect are among the attributes the program works toward.

In these classes students use Korean Karate/Tae Kwon Do as a foundation, then branch into a spectrum of broader martial arts study. Classes run from September through June, 2x a week for 1 hour. Philly Peace in progress is a black-and-woman-led community -based 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in West Philadelphia, PA. We are on a mission to rebuild troubled youth by helping them become more positive and healthy problem solvers. The goal is to help them develop problem solving skills through fun, yet educational field trips, group talks with experts, skill focused activities and tutoring.

Manage all aspects of event planning meeting strict deadlines and budget demands

Nurture and build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts to craft and implement creative and logistical aspects of all events

Stay current, and often ahead of the curve, on event planning, design, and production trends, proactively identifying and solving operational challenges

Establish standard procedures and train staff to execute them

Comply with legal, insurance, health and safety regulations at all times

We are seeking a experienced event planner to help us maintain our reputation for memorable events by managing the production from concept through completion. The ideal candidate is passionate, creative, and detail oriented, and dedicated to providing superb client service at every turn. This role demands an expert in all aspects of event, meeting, and conference planning, including cost containment, venue scouting, equipment logistics, room setup, and a wealth of best practices. She/He will also have excellent leadership skills and the ability to delegate responsibilities to meet quality expectations. The best fit for our company is an event planner who can manage the daily details with big-picture thinking to ensure truly unique experiences.

Collaborate with Program Coordinator, Fundraiser Assistant and Marketer.

Coordinate with internal staff, clients, vendors, and others to establish needs for events, and serve as liaison to senior level executives, government officials, and industry leaders throughout the planning process.

Research resources, make site visits, and lead pre-event meetings when necessary to help staff make decisions about event design.

Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials.

Oversee client experiences from conception through post-event, managing on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown, ensuring consistent, high-level service throughout all phases.

Maintain and build a comprehensive database of industry contacts, vendors, and venues.

Troubleshoot and handle any issues that arise on the event day.

Education:

Associate degree in event management or a related discipline Experience in marketing and/or public relations

The Program Assistant will assist in recruitment, outreach and execution of our mentoring program. This position will work on administrative duties such as social media, data entry and mentor recruitment. They will also work with our in person mentoring program, assisting in tutoring, supervising our youth and coming up with activities for them.

DREAM's mission is to work towards closing the opportunity gap for youth living in low-income housing communities. We do this by providing a variety of programming and mentorship to the youth enrolled in our organization. Mentors and mentees meet to build community through shared activities, both in groups and one-on-one. In Philadelphia, we are partnered with many socioeconomically disadvantaged communities, if you are accepted to the program you will be assigned to one of those chapters.

Programs time Commitment: 3:30-6:30 pm every Friday during the youth's academic year (October to May) and weekly 1-hour planning meetings. Programs follow your college's schedule and will be on hold during Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break. Mentors are volunteers who commit to the program for their duration of their time in college.

Each Saturday morning, 52 weeks a year, we serve a hot breakfast and provide clothing and toiletries to 60 people (mostly men) who are experiencing homelessness or hardship. Come and join us! Volunteers are needed to prepare and cook breakfast, set up, assist guests and clean up.

Volunteer for Beyond Literacy's Family Literacy program!

We partner with five elementary schools throughout Philadelphia to offer adult ESOL classes for parents, parent education classes to help parents/caregivers support their children in school, and after school literacy classes with parents and children together. You can volunteer during the adult ESOL classes, the parent-child literacy classes, or both! It is an amazing opportunity for those interested in adult ESOL education, early childhood and elementary education, non-profit work, or just those looking to support immigrant families in Philadelphia.

Volunteer Tutors Needed! Semillas del Futuro, Norris Square Neighborhood Project’s after-school program, is seeking volunteer tutors this school year 2024-2025 for high school students (grades 9-12). Students need support with homework, test preparation, and subject comprehension. We are especially looking for tutors in:

Tutors must be able to commit to at least 1 hour/week (max 3 hours) between 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, until at least December 2024. Please note that all tutors are required to have clearances to work with youth on an ongoing basis. NSNP will pay for your clearances if you do not already have them.

Moder Patshala has various programs for children and adults. We are looking for DCCs for administrative work, including tutoring. Our programs run from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Legal Aid of Southeastern is looking for an intern for 5-15 hours per week to assist the criminal record clearing team as they work to ensure that expungement and limited access orders are correctly implemented so that we can be certain that expunged information no longer comes up on our client’s background checks. Volunteer Tutor/Mentor Opportunity 

Step Up Tutoring is seeking volunteers to provide virtual 1-on-1 tutoring to 2nd-6th grade students from underserved communities to help build fundamental math and literacy skills and to provide support and encouragement. All tutoring will take place virtually! All you need is a computer and internet access. No prior tutoring experience is needed.

Responsibilities:

Tutor 1-on-1 twice a week via an online video platform; each session is 45 minutes

All training is done through online, self-paced modules. No prior tutoring experience is required.
