What is the Point-in-Time Count? Required by HUD, Philadelphia joins cities around the U.S. to complete a census of people experiencing homelessness. At the Point-In-Time (PIT) Count, over 250 volunteers in Philadelphia canvas the entire city to document persons experiencing homelessness during one night/afternoon in January. Data from the PIT Count help inform local and federal policy, allocate resources, and help to assist in determining how to end homelessness. It helps us understand the scope of homelessness in Philadelphia, plus identify trends, gaps, and service needs of those experiencing homelessness.
This important event relies on the support of volunteers. To make it a success, we need your help! There are several opportunities for individuals/corporate/groups to volunteer. Plus, we provide training so everyone is prepared and ready to contribute.
