Volunteer: Community Hygiene (11am-2:30pm - Wednesdays)Community Hygiene is a program that addresses the personal care needs of our guests. Our program helps address these needs through care packages containing essentials like soap, toothbrush, underwear, socks, period products etc. Access to products to keep the body clean and clothed is crucial for one’s quality of life. Our team has developed an ordering and fulfillment system that is both efficient and trauma-informed. A detailed orientation will be given to you the day-of. Volunteers must be able to read English. Physical requirements: volunteers must be able to lift 20lb, be able to walk, bend, and stand.

Volunteer: Sanctuary Lunch ServiceEach meal service strives to be a cordial, safe, calm, and delicious dining experience. This meal has been a linchpin of BSM’s outreach of compassion and justice since 2008.
Our meal service runs similarly to a restaurant. Training and orientation will be provided the day of and is built into the volunteer shift (10:30 - 2:00pm). Volunteers will be assigned a specific role - server, busser, greeter, host, etc. Volunteers will assist by serving the already plated meals and clear and reset table setting to welcome new guests.
